HOW DOES IT WORK?

PRP Facial Procedure

The PRP Facial has become popular thanks to celebrities having the procedure to keep their skin looking camera ready and glowing. The PRP Facial is an anti aging procedure which combines platelet rich plasma (PRP) with the use of micro needle dermal stimulation (Rejuvapen). The medical micro needle procedure using the Rejuvapen is a method of “collagen induction therapy” also referred to as “CIT”. The small entries into the dermis cause the skin to respond with collagen which softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as superficial sun damage.

There is a difference between the PRP Facial and the PRP Facelift. The PRP Facial does not include any injection with a syringe. The PRP (platelet rich plasma) is spread over the skin and the fine needles of of the micro needle device creates “entry pores” to the top layers of the skin.

The benefits of this treatment can be appreciated as soon as 1 week. The skin can continue to improve over several weeks and the benefits can last for months.

The PRP Facial treatment is customized to the needs of the client and is used to improve the appearance of:

  • Complexion
  • Acne scars
  • Chicken Pox scars
  • Fine lines
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Brown discolorations

The platelet rich plasma (PRP) delivery to the dermis further enhances the micro needle treatment so collagen and other skin enhancing support is stimulated by the growth factors in the platelet rich plasma (PRP). The platelet rich plasma (PRP) also has factors which stimulate blood supply to the skin. This creates a look of glow and luster to the skin which is unique to platelet rich plasma.

Typically, the skin can appear pink for about 1-2 days however, makeup can be worn the next day.

What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?

PRP is a concentrated source of platelets, growth factors and cytokines produced naturally in your own body, and stimulates and controls healthy regenerative processes, including collagen and soft tissue remodeling, and thereby improves overall health and rejuvenation. PRP has been used successfully for years to promote improved healing times and optimal results from various surgical and non-surgical procedures. The PRP, painlessly obtained through a small blood draw, is injected after dermal filler and enhances the results of this amazing procedure.

3 Steps of the PRP Facial Procedure

First, the physician (1) isolates growth factors from the patient’s blood. Then (2), the provider uses a micro-needling device to create multiple micro-punctures –both driving the isolated growth factors into the skin & creating stimulus for tightening and rejuvenation of the collagen of the face. Then (3), these provider paints the growth factors onto the micro-punctures so that the growth factors soak into the tissue for further stimulation of tightening and skin rejuvenation.

The skin tightens, and glows with color, and scaring softens for a beautiful younger and very natural result.

  1. Isolating the Blood: First, our certified skin therapists draw blood from your arm (just like getting a blood test done). Then, using a centrifuge, the staff member isolates platelets from that blood (platelet-rich plasma or PRP)–all within about 10 minutes in the office!
  2. Micro-Needling: Once the blood is separated, we harvest the most important part of the blood called PRP, which is madeup of your platelets and plasma. The provider will use the Rejuvapen to make tiny microscopic pinpoint holes in the skin while using your Platelet Rich Plasma as a serum.
  3. Coating and Soaking Your Face with Blood Derived Growth Factors: Once finished their may be some PRP serum that is sent home with the client. This should be refrigerated, but used as a facial serum throughout the remainder of the day or evening. These growth factors then activate multi-potent stem cells already in the skin (tricking them into “thinking” there’s been an injury and new younger tissue should be generated).
